Welcombe Radio Goes Podcasting

The core of what we do stays the same because our aims and values remain the same but now we’re helping local people to develop and produce podcasts on our website and other platforms..

How many community organisations do you think operate in and around Stratford-upon-Avon? We think you’d be surprised just how many community groups there are beavering away whether they be in the foreground or background. They are run by our friends, family, colleagues and neighbours. What they all share, what is common to all of them, is that they have a passion and belief in what they do and the benefits it brings to all those who get involved. Welcombe Radio podcasts is all about promoting and supporting what they do within our community.

So, we want to share with you the wonderful things the people of Stratford and the surrounding district are doing to help, support, enjoy and entertain each other: local people doing things for local people.

Often we hear the words, “I didn’t know that was happening!” We aim to use the tool kit that is Welcombe Radio podcasts to help fix that. So, listen in, discover and enjoy what is happening around you. Better still get involved!

It’s all on your mobile, tablet, laptop or computer, and more importantly your doorstep!

We are a group of volunteers from the community, our community who believe in the value an active, vibrant, supportive community brings to everybody, which is why everyone is welcome.

Our Welcombe Radio Charter

Welcombe Radio is all about community podcasts for our community, by our community. Everyone is Welcombe!

We will work hard to produce a variety of diverse podcast shows by everyone, for everyone. Everyone is Welcombe!

You will be heard! We will actively reach out to those communities whose voices are seldom listened to. Everyone is Welcombe!

We will support all of our volunteers, providing you with clear guidelines, mentorship, and training to enable you to get the most out of being part of our community. Everyone is Welcombe!

We will provide ways through which you can feedback on our podcasts, helping us to build further this community-based radio station. Everyone is Welcombe!

We will grow a community that fosters the sharing of skills, knowledge, experience and values among all our volunteer presenters, producers and engineers. Everyone is Welcombe!

Your voice matters. Although we must follow the rules and regulations set by OFCOM and the government, we are editorially independent of government, commercial and religious institutions and political parties in determining our programme policy. Everyone is Welcombe!

Welcombe Radio is not, nor will it ever be, run for profit. We will ensure our ongoing independence by being funded through a variety of sources. Everyone is Welcombe!

We will provide certificated training, in conjunction with local schools and colleges, with supervision and mentorship to ensure good quality across all our podcasts. Everyone is Welcombe!

We will showcase and support local creative talent, providing you with a platform from which to launch your careers. Everyone is Welcombe!

We will work with local media outlets and diverse sources to provide a wide range of honest and up to date information about our community. Everyone is Welcombe!
